I have long held a love for photography, travel, adventure and the outdoors. Traveling widely from a young age gave me great opportunities to indulge these passions, and a month long trip to the Falkland Islands with my Father, as a youngster particularly sparked my imagination and interest in photography.
At the age of 12 I spent 2 years living and schooling in Thailand where my fascination with the underwater world really took hold and I learned to scuba dive.

In 2002, at the end of my first year of University the urge to see the wide world proved too much once again as a friend and I booked a 3 month round the world trip (when I should of been taking my first year University exams). Inevitably the 3 month trip turned into a year of adventure and the trip of a lifetime.

Upon my return, viewing the rolls of film I had shot, I realised that neither my photographic skills nor my equipment were doing justice to the amazing sights I had seen. I was determined to change this and receiving my first SLR as a generous gift gave me the opportunity to change things.

After a year of self teaching and trial and error my technique began to improve and in 2004 I returned to college for a year to study photography.

All aspects of photography interest me, and my love for the outdoors first led me to landscape photography. More recently (after breaking the bank!) I have acquired underwater housing for my DSLR which has allowed me to explore below the water and indulge in my biggest passion, underwater photography.

At the end of 2007 I left my full time job in order to gain new skills that would allow me to explore and photograph the more remote regions of the globe. My aim is to keep making interesting photographs as well as using photography as a means to promote environmental issues that are important to me.

I recently returned from a 3 month expedition to the Yucatan Peninsula. Living on an isolated beach in the Mexican jungle, I was part of a group of people diving on and monitoring the Mesoamerican barrier reef gathering valuable scientific data on behalf of Global Vision International. This gave me the opportunity to gain many hours under the water and become a qualified Divemaster, Cavern Diver and Coral Reef Research Diver.

In my spare time I am a Royal Marine Reservist and a qualified free diver and canoeist.
